GeofencingWhat it means, in plain English
Geofencing is the use of a virtual boundary around a physical location, such as a site or store, to control or verify location-based actions. In workforce management it is most often used to stop staff clocking in before they arrive on site or to flag punches made from the wrong location. UK employers using geofencing should cover it in their privacy notice, since location data is personal data under UK GDPR.
