No-showWhat it means, in plain English

A no-show is when an employee fails to turn up for a rostered shift without notifying anyone, also called AWOL or unauthorised absence. Employers should first attempt contact and establish the reason, since an emergency or a rota misunderstanding is very different from simply not attending. Repeated or unexplained no-shows are normally handled through the disciplinary procedure, and an employer should not treat silence as resignation without following a fair process.
