Rotating shiftWhat it means, in plain English
A rotating shift is one where the employee's working times change on a planned cycle, for example a week of earlies followed by a week of lates and then nights. Rotation shares unpopular hours fairly across the team and keeps everyone competent on all parts of the operation. Employers must still deliver the 11-hour daily rest between shifts, which constrains how quickly a rota can flip someone from a late finish to an early start.
